How do we deal with covid-19?
Guests are most welcome! From June 14 2021 we, both hosts, are fully vaccinated!! and 22 december we had three doses. Nor guests neither hosts (us) has been ill during this year, hardly even an ordinary harmless sneeze … and hopefully covid-19 has withdrawn completely when time comes for Your visit. Between forest and lake
Stay at a B&B in Dalarna close to nature and wildlife between lake and forest just about 10 minutes ride from the center of the city Falun and only 10 minutes from the sports venue “Lugnet” at the fringe of Falun.
83 sq. yd (70 kvm)
The B&B is a suite about 83 sq. yd. (70 kvm) in a bungalow in the village Österå at the shore of the lake Varpan. It consists of a large bedroom and a winter garden (green house) that is used for relaxation and breakfast; there is also a sauna, shower and bathroom, 1-4 beds.
Closeness to and view over assembly hall
Close to the bungalow, within about 55 Yards (50 m) lies “Österå bystuga“, which often is let out for bigger festivities and celebrations.

The suite, facilities and service
Free wi-fi and TV with common free Swedish channels.
View photos of the rooms and their layout, and read more about the facilities. There is only one suit in our B&B. You will be our sole guests. Our beds are (6,56 x 2,9 ft (90 x 200 cm)) and the 2 extra beds are (2,6 x 6,56 ft (80×200 cm)), all with interior sprung mattresses.

No pets and no smoking
Obs! We have a dog so – no pets! No matter how small, gentle, non allergenic and little fur they shed.
No smoking indoors. Smoking outdoors, please!

breakfast
In the winter garden or green house, you serve yourself a breakfast which is mainly organic. You can also watch TV or connect the screen to your own devices.
From the winter garden there is both a direct entrance of Your own to the front yard as well as a direct entrance to a patio in a secluded part of our garden. There You also can have breakfast, or simply enjoy a warm summer evening. Read more about facilities.

View over lake and close to beach
It is about 165 yd (150 m) to the beach for a bath in summer and ice skating in winter, if the track on the ice is cleared. Read more “to do“.

Assembly rooms with garden and beach
The closeness to spacious assembly rooms for festivities in Österå bystuga makes our B&B to a convenient accommodation at larger celebrations and festivities.

Historical vicinity

The village Österå lies in the landscape where the artists Anders Zorn and Arvid Backlund were born and brought up and where “Vasaloppet” has taken place since 1922, Dalarna. Karin and Carl Larsson are also among the famous artists associated with Dalarna.

The village is also a part of the world heritage, Falun copper mine. You can see traces from the smokey and power demanding industry in Österå. For instance, the beach used to be a shipping port for the ore.

Nowadays the beach is used for sunbathing and swimming and on the last evening in april, “Valborg”, we have festivities there: boat race, song, mingle, speech and fireworks. It is a spectacular view with all the fireworks around the lake mirroring in the black glassy surface of the lake. Hot summer days it is nice to take a refreshing bath.
